The process of polishing described by Inge is called burnishing (brunissage in French, namamigaki in Japanese). It is done at a special time when the clay has what is called the "hardness of leather", which means hard but not dry. One can find various information about it here (in French).

My bad. It's a completely conventionally shaped teapot with two cups. The teapot holds 135 ml and the cups for servings of 60-75ml.

Hey Kyara
The clay is a German slightly grogged stoneware. Its colour comes from natural chromium ore, which the manfacturer assures me is not toxic and not the same composition as chrome oxide. This clay has a very soft finish, and I really like its humble matte look. Its max temperature is 1300, but I always just fire it to 1280.
