Inge Nielsen est une potière d'origine danoise qui a étudié à Taïwan de 2009 à 2013. Son atelier est actuellement installé à Bruxelles en Belgique.
Elle cuit des pièces entre 1250 et 1280 °C. Elle réalise divers objets pour le thé, émaillés ou non. Elle travaille maintenant exclusivement en cuisson oxydative, et ses émaux et couvertes préférées sont le céladon, oilspot et le rouge. Elle utilise différents grès et porcelaines, qu'elle trouve localement ou qu'elle importe.

Quelques membres du Forum possèdent déjà des pièces de Inge, qui ont été présentées ici ou là...Après échanges avec Inge et Kyara, nous ouvrons ce sujet pour que Inge vienne échanger avec nous sur son travail. Elle est partante pour partager avec nous ses questions, les photos de son travail etc. Elle s'exprimera en anglais.

Oui c'est normal, je viens de créer un login pour Inge et lui expliquer le chemin d'accès et mode d'emploi rudimentaire du FAT...
Elle vient de terminer une cuisson, elle travaille sur le gaiwan et le shiboridashi...

Hello everyone and thank you so much for the warm welcome! A special thanks to Kyara and Lionel for their kind help and support.
I am very pleased to have this new channel to exchange ideas on pottery and its interaction with tea. I have already had useful and constructive comments from some of you regarding my pots. Keep it coming! Working alone, it is all too easy to lose focus on keeping one's work functional and attractive for all, not just oneself.
Lionel has already made an apt introduction. To this I just want to add a few words. I am what you might cheekily call an old China hand who has turned her hand to china. I studied for an academic career in Chinese literature for most of the 90s in the UK, China (Beijing) and the US until one day I saw the futility of it all.... (that's another long story). In 2009, I moved to Taiwan with my husband and twins, and there I had the great fortune to meet Mr Zheng Deyong in his Huayan studio. I studied with him for almost 4 years.
Now, 8 years later, I work out of my own basement studio in Brussels. I work slowly, and - I like to think - carefully. I am not a production potter, but neither do I emphasize uniqueness. I continue to pay attention the the things I learned in Taipei: tight throwing, precise trimming, close seals and controlled pours ... mature glazes, subdued balanced forms and keeping that creative monkey inside on a tight leash! I think the emphasis on technical and formal aspects suits my temper.
Again, thanks for welcoming me here.
